Mental Health & wellbeing

SilverCloud offer an online, self-led course, 'Helping Your Anxious Child'. This programme has been designed for parents and carers who are looking to support their child in dealing with worry and anxiety. This programme incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) such as psychoeducation, relaxation and gradual exposure, with the aim of enabling the child to identify their anxiety, and to apply their skills in anxiety-provoking situations. Childline is free, confidential and available any time, day or night. Young people can talk on the phone, by email or through 1-2-1 counsellor chat. Whatever feels best for them. Online support is also available on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram so young people can share ideas or get tips about lots of different issues, including anxiety and low mood problems. www.childline.org.uk/get-support/

Stop. Breathe. Think. offer 6 sessions of counselling via telephone or video call, for young people aged 8-21. Their straightforward self-referral process is explained on their website: https://www.stopbreathethink.org.uk/

Kooth aged 10+ : Kooth.com offers free, safe, and anonymous mental health support for young people. Access live chats with counsellors, moderated forums, self-help resources, journals, and goal-setting tools. No referrals needed; just sign up online and get support 365 days a year, whenever you need it.
